SA Sailors Benji Daniel and Alex Burger have secured a spot at the Tokyo Olympics in the 49er class for South Africa.
The former 29er world champions beat 129 teams in 2017 to win the title. They were convinced their dream of competing at their first Olympics was over, but the event in which they could qualify finally went ahead last week.

After a sailing season of cancellations, it was so encouraging to see a strong fleet of 20 boats compete in the 2021 Hobie Tiger Nationals held in Langebaan from 18-21 March.
The old guard still ranked well in the results, although some strong competition from the younger sailors kept them on their toes. -
