The Marseilles event will take place on Friday 20 until Sunday 22 September 2019.
Marseille SailGP will take place in the Rade Nord, in front of the seawall outside the famous Old Port of Marseille and the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, with anticipated large on-water and seawall spectator crowds.
Following two practice days, racing will take place over three days (20/21/22 September), culminating in a US$1 million winner-takes-all match race final between the season’s top-two ranked teams.
National teams for France, Australia, China, Great Britain, Japan and the United States will compete in a series of short-format races. Scores from the Marseille event will be added to the overall season points, with the top two placed teams facing-off in a match race final to determine the overall season winner on Sunday afternoon.
The position of the Rade Nord racecourse means the thrilling racing can be viewed from spectator areas on the seawall or out on the water. The Fan Zone, on the J4 Esplanade, is just in front of iconic MuCEM museum and is free to the public and sure to attract a crowd.
