INEOS Team UK are out of the America’s Cup! They fought valiantly but they just couldn’t shake the Challenger of Record, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli. The Italians sailed a flawless regatta and will now meet Emirates Team New Zealand in the America’s Cup match. This will be the second time in their 6 attempts that they have made it to the America’s Cup Match itself.

Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli leads the Prada Cup Final with 4-0. The Finals didn’t quite provide the close and intense racing we were expecting. INEOS Team UK seemed to be on the back foot in all 4 races, and Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli took advantage of that.

The PRADA Cup starts on Friday, January 15. Three Challengers will compete with the winner qualifying to race against the America’s Cup Defender, Emirates Team New Zealand in the America’s Cup Match. The Prada America’s Cup World Series provided the entertainment and the thrills and spills promised. This was the first time that the Defender and Challengers competed against one another on the same race track. It was also the first time that they were measured boat speed for boat speed.

The fastest America’s Cup event in 170 years starts in Auckland, New Zealand on 17th December. The PRADA America’s Cup World Series runs from 17-19th December and the PRADA Christmas Race is on Sunday 20th. The Race Village was opened on Tuesday amid wonderful traditional fanfare.
