The Maserati Levante-S petrol version was launched in true James Bond style on Wednesday evening. The stylish set watched the beautiful SUV being lowered by crane through a retractable roof onto the top floor of a fashion studio in Cape Town. Guests watched in awe as the car was lowered by precision into the studio to the sound of dramatic music and surrounded by smoke. It was spectacular to witness.
Two other vehicles were deposited onto the terrace of the building by crane earlier in the day. Social media picked up the story with tweets and posts about this first-time feat. Insurance company representatives were on hand to ensure that all went according to plan.
Dubbed the Levante-S, the vehicle boasts outstanding power, amplifying the brand’s signature roar. Until now, the successful Maserati Levante has been available in South Africa as a V6 Turbo Diesel engine. The new exciting twin turbo V6 Petrol Levante-S, now offers over 430 HP (320 KW) which delivers a 0-100km/h time of 5,2 seconds – making it a true performance machine.
“Since launching the Levante in South Africa last year, we have had an overwhelming response from the public. The arrival of the Levante-S cements Maserati’s position as one of the country’s leaders in the niche vehicle segment, including luxury SUVs,” says Brad Graaff, Operations Manager for European Automotive Imports – South Africa (EAI-SA). EAI-SA is the official importer of the Maserati Brand in South Africa.
Maserati has a history of naming its cars after the world’s most famous winds. It started in 1963 with the legendary Mistral. Then came the Ghibli, the Bora and the Khamsin. And now the Levante joins the Maserati hall of fame.
